Dont Fight The Tape

June 22,2011

With the market indicating which way it wants to go, I am moving even closer to the safety of shore.

Today. June 16,2011, I cut the Oil Exploration etf by 50% and sold the entire DOD position. The proceeds of these sales were used to
purchase equal parts of CSJ – BSV – VCSH.

By now, the November 4 Portfolio, liquidated in May, would have given back $100,000 in profits. As of now, realized losses in the
Go Away Portfolio are approximately $13,000 – and will be calculated into the final result of the Go Away Portfolio at termination.

Get ready for a snap back rally on any kind of good news. But, to me this market has already shown its true color….red…..indicating
buyer beware.

Fear + Anxiety = Tweak

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

May is in our rear view mirror and it didn’t take long for the Go Away adage to show why investors like me respect it….mightily !

The Fed’s easy money policy is being questioned because all the easing and QE2 hasn’t led to more jobs and or a rebound in positive housing activity. And, with gas prices taxing the consumer and the consumer representing almost 70% of GDP activity what is positive to look forward to ? Everybody seems to be thinking down, not up.

Don’t fight the Fed versus don’t fight the tape…now add in Go Away with October not that far over the horizon.

Conclusion: Time for a tweak that will further soften the impact of market action via interest and dividends.

Impacted by this move…JNK ..VTI…CSJ…RJA…ALD…BSV
